Password Learn Procedure

NOTE: If instrument panel cluster is replaced on vehicles with Passlock(tm) system, vehicle may start and stall (long tamper mode). If this occurs, system must go through a long tamper mode cycle to relearn password.

Attempt to start vehicle. If vehicle does not run, go to next step. If vehicle runs, ensure SECURITY indicator turns off after about 10 seconds. If SECURITY indicator does not operate as specified, locate and repair problem in anti-theft system. See appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS article.
Ensure SECURITY indicator is flashing. Leave ignition switch in RUN position until indicator turns solid (about 10 minutes). Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Start vehicle and ensure system is operating properly.
