Check Engine Oil Level Indicator Not Operating Properly

  1. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. Go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool to DLC and turn ignition on. Select Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) special functions LAMP TEST on scan tool. Command indicators on and off. If LOW OIL LEVEL indicator turns on and off when commanded, check engine oil level switch. Replace if necessary. If LOW OIL LEVEL indicator does not turn on and off when commanded, go to next step.
  3. Replace instrument panel cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
