Brake Warning Indicator System Check

  1. Ensure parking brake is not applied. Turn ignition on. BRAKE indicator should come on briefly. If BRAKE indicator does not operate as specified, go to BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ALWAYS ON  or BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR INOPERATIVE  under SYMPTOM TESTS.
  2. Apply parking brake. BRAKE indicator should come on. If BRAKE indicator does not operate as specified, go to BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR INOPERATIVE  under SYMPTOM TESTS.
  3. When brake fluid level is low, BRAKE indicator should come on. If BRAKE indicator does not operate as specified, go to BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR INOPERATIVE  under SYMPTOM TESTS.
