Turn ignition switch on, with engine off. If TC indicator illuminates, go to next step. If TC indicator does not illuminate, go to step 5) .
- Replace EBTCM.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between pinout box terminal No. 18 and instrument cluster connector terminal No. L or A6 (Purple/White wire). If resistance is not 0-5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 0-5 ohms, go to step 7) .
- Repair open or high resistance in Purple/White wire between instrument cluster and EBTCM.
- Diagnose instrument cluster. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBTCM connector C1. Install pinout box and adapter cable to EBTCM harness connector C1. Using DVOM, measure resistance between pinout box terminals No. 17 and 15 while an assistance presses and releases TCS on/off switch. If resistance is not 0-5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 0-5 ohms, go to step 4) .
- Repair open or high resistance in Brown/White wire between TCS on/off switch and EBTCM. Also, check for an open in TCS on/off switch.
