DTC U1255: Loss Of Class 2 Serial Data Fault (General): Testing

  1. Perform DATA LINK CONNECTOR (DLC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. Go to next step.
  2. Perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. Go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear BCM DTCs. Recheck for current BCM DTCs. If DTC U1255 resets, go to next step. If DTC U1255 does not reset, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform new BCM setup. See NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. After programming BCM, go to step  6 .
  5. Symptom is not present at this time. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  for additional diagnostic information.
  6. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reinstall connectors and components. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Recheck for current BCM DTCs. If any BCM DTCs are set as current, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. If BCM DTCs do not set, system is operating properly.
