With Scan Tool

NOTE: Following procedure is written specifically for Tech 2 scan tool. A generic scan tool may not be capable of performing all necessary reprogramming functions.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. Using scan tool, select BODY, then BODY CONTROL MODULE. Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Select PROGRAM KEY FOBS.
  3. Press and hold LOCK button and UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of 15 seconds, body control module will sound 3 chimes to confirm programming of first transmitter.
  4. Repeat previous step to program up to 4 transmitters. Remove scan tool. Operate transmitter functions to verify correct system operation.
