Carburetor Idle Circuit Test

  1. Connect tachometer to engine. Remove air cleaner. If equipped, disconnect and plug vacuum line at solenoid kicker. Start engine, momentarily raise engine speed above 1100 RPM and then wait 2 minutes for idle speed to stabilize. Plug idle air bleed hole.
  2. Engine speed should drop. If so, go to EGR SYSTEM TEST  . If not, or if engine speed increases, check carburetor for plugged circuit and repair as needed.
