The L or H stamping on the front portion of the piston must face toward the front of the engine. The connecting rod and cap are stamped on the side with a cylinder number identification. The numbered side of the connecting rod cap must be installed on the same side as the numbered side of the rod. When installing cap bolts, torque to 20 ft-lbs, then tighten an additional 1/4 turn.
