Information Center Test 6A - High Beam Indicator Light
NOTE:
Perform INFORMATION CENTER TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition on. Turn high beam headlights on. Ensure turn signals are off. If high beam headlights do not illuminate, go to EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A . If high beam headlights illuminate, go to next step.
- Disconnect information center. Remove and inspect high beam indicator light bulb. Replace as needed. Remove ignition key. Turn off all lights and accessories. Close all doors. Go to next step.
- Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Black wire) on information center connector. If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step.
- Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Red/Orange wire) on information center connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Red/Orange wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace information center.
