Input/Output Diagnostics

  1. After all DTCs have been displayed, BCM provides individual input and output diagnostic checks for various functions. All systems will indicate each system input with a single flash of seat belt indicator and a chime tone. These system inputs include: All courtesy light switches, door lock cylinders, door lock switches, door lock ajar switches, keyless entry door lock/unlock, driver's fasten seat belt switch, driver information display, headlights OFF switch, shock sensor, automatic day/night mirror, trip calculator and turn signal switch. If the proper feedback is not received, then there is an open or short in that circuit or a faulty component.
  2. To test BCM outputs, ensure BCM is in diagnostic mode. Turn instrument panel dimmer switch to DOME position. See BCM OUTPUT DIAGNOSTICS table. To move to next test, cycle instrument panel dimmer switch from DOME position to off, then back to DOME position. BCM will sound chime the appropriate number of times to indicate which output test is entered.
