DTC B3031: Key Decoder Device In Assembly Learn Mode: Testing

  1. If theft deterrent diagnostic systems check has been performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent diagnostic systems check has not been performed, go to THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. NOTE: If a 10 minute or 30 minute re-learn procedure is performed, all keys not learned at that time will be erased and will not be recognized. Perform adding keys procedure on all keys or instruct customer as to how to perform adding keys procedure. See ADDING KEYS  under PROGRAMMING.
  3. Perform Programming Theft Deterrent System Components procedure. See PROGRAMMING THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM COMPONENTS  under PROGRAMMING. After programming is completed, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Start engine. Using scan tool, select DISPLAY DTC function and retrieve any BCM DTCs. If DTC B3031 does not reset, system is okay at this time. If DTC B3031 resets, go to step  3.
