DTC B2242: Memory No. 1 Switch Fault (LDCM): Testing

  1. If diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select LDCM input display and monitor MEMORY 1 SELECT SWITCH status. If scan tool displays MEMORY 1 SELECT SWITCH status as INACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool does not display MEMORY 1 SELECT SWITCH status as INACTIVE, go to step  4 .
  3. Press memory No. 1 switch button. If MEMORY 1 SELECT SWITCH status changes, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If MEMORY 1 SELECT SWITCH status does not change, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver's door switch assembly connector. Turn ignition on and monitor MEMORY 1 SELECT SWITCH status. If scan tool display does not display MEMORY 1 SELECT SWITCH status as INACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool displays MEMORY 1 SELECT SWITCH status as INACTIVE, go to step  7 .
  5. Check for short to ground in White wire between driver's door switch assembly and LDCM. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  10 .
  6. Check LDCM circuits and connectors for intermittent malfunctions. If problem circuit or connector is not found, go to step  8 . If problem circuit or connector is found and repaired, go to step  10 .
  7. Check driver's door switch circuits and connectors for intermittent malfunctions. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If problem circuit or connector is not found, go to step  9 . If problem circuit or connector is repaired, go to step  10 .
  8. Replace LDCM. See POWER WINDOWS - CORVETTE article. After repair, go to step  10 .
  9. Replace driver's door switch assembly. See DRIVER'S DOOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
  10. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect or install any connectors or components disconnected or removed. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Clear any DTCs. Recheck system operation. If DTC resets, go to step  2 .
