Removal Procedure

The DRL module board is enclosed in the plastic case with an integral wiring harness.
CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
- Air bag deployment
- Personal injury
- Unnecessary SIR system repairs
- Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
- If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
- Disable the SIR System. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- Remove the instrument panel compartment. Refer to COMPARTMENT REPLACEMENT -- IP .
- Remove the 2 screws which secure the DRL mounting brackets (3) to the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the DRL control module electrical connector (2).
- Remove the DRL control module (1) with the mounting brackets attached from the vehicle.
- Remove the DRL control module (1) from the mounting brackets (3) by releasing the module case clips using a flat-bladed tool.
