WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2003 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:
ALWAYS release fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Install the Fuel Pressure Gauge Fitting (J 34730-262) to the fuel pressure connection.
- Connect Fuel Pressure Gauge (J 34730-1A) to the fuel pressure gauge fitting. See Fig 1. Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure connection while connecting the fuel pressure gauge to avoid spillage.
- Install the bleed hose into an approved container and open the valve to bleed the system pressure. The fuel connections are now safe for servicing.
- Drain any fuel remaining in the fuel pressure gauge into an approved container.
