Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying Engine Mount Upper Nuts

  1. Install the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the engine mount upper nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the engine mount upper nuts to 53 N.m (39 lb ft).

  3. Install the engine mount bracket with the engine mount to the oil pan.
  4. For FWD, install the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the engine mount bracket bolts to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).

  5. Fro AWD, install the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts. Hand tighten only.
  6. For AWD, install the engine mount-to-engine bolt (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).

  7. Use the utility stand in order to lower the engine.

  8. Install the engine mount lower nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the engine mount lower nuts to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).

  9. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body Front End.
  10. Install the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  11. Connect the three-way catalytic converter pipe to the engine right side exhaust manifold. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Install the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left  and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right .
  14. Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
  15. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LA1) in Engine Electrical.
