Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the power steering pressure line (1) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the power steering pressure line (1) to the clamps on the power steering gear.

  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the power steering pressure line to the power steering gear.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pressure line fitting to the power steering gear to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  8. Install the power steering pressure line to the power steering lines retaining bracket on the engine.
  9. Install the power steering pressure line to the power steering pump.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pressure line fitting to the power steering pump to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  11. Fill the power steering system with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  12. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
  13. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
