Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the accelerator pedal (1) to the cowl (4).
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the accelerator pedal bolt (3) and the stud (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt and the stud to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the accelerator cable (5) to the accelerator pedal (1).
  5. Inspect for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. The throttle should operate freely and without binding between full-closed and wide-open throttle. Inspect for proper carpet fit under the accelerator pedal.
  6. Install the left instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
