Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the PCM to the connectors.

    Tighten:  Tighten the connectors to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  2. Install the PCM (4) and the harness into the air cleaner housing.
  3. Install the air cleaner housing cover assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  5. If a replacement PCM is being installed, program the PCM. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in Programming.
