Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement

Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the wheelhouse inner liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front .
  2. Remove the brake lines from the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control module.
1 Bolts, ABS Control Module Mounting (Qty: 3).

Tightening Specifications:  Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

Tightening Specifications:  Tighten the mounting bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

2 Module, ABS Control
3 Bolt, Electronic Brake Control Module (Qty: 3).

Tightening Specifications:  Tighten the mounting bolts to 2.3 N.m (20 lb in).

4 Module, Electronic Brake Control.
5 Seal, Electronic Brake Control Module O-ring (Qty: 8)
Tip: 
  1. Ensure that the area between the EBCM and the BPCM is free of dirt and debris.
  2. DO NOT re-use the O-rings for the EBCM, USE NEW ONLY
  3. Apply a small amount of clean DOT 3 brake fluid to the seals before installing the NEW O-rings.
  4. Bleed the Brake System. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual Bleed) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure Bleed)
