Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor: Service and Repair

ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE






1. IMPORTANT: Do not remove the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor from the accelerator pedal assembly. The APP sensor and pedal assembly are serviced as one unit.

IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to adjust the APP sensor. The APP sensor calibration is preset at the factory.

Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the APP sensor (1).
2. Remove the 2 fasteners (3) and the APP sensor and pedal assembly (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the APP sensor and pedal assembly (1) to the vehicle.
2. Secure the accelerator pedal assembly to the vehicle with 2 fasteners (3).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Tighten the 2 fasteners to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
3. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the APP sensor (1).
