Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  1. Install the shift lever assembly, then the 4 nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).

  2. Install the shift cable into the shift lever assembly, then turn the lock clockwise to lock.

  3. Connect the cable end of the shift cable to the shift lever assembly, then install the retaining clip.
  4. Install the select cable into the shift lever assembly, then turn the lock clockwise to lock.
  5. Connect the cable end of the select cable to the shift lever assembly, then install the retaining clip and washer.
  6. Install the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  7. Install the instrument compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  8. Install the center instrument trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement .
  9. Install the knob.
