Circuit/System Verification
- Engine running measure and record the voltage at the battery terminals. Verify that the battery voltage is 12.6-15.5 volts.
- Observe the scan tool EBCM battery positive voltage parameter. The reading should be between 12.6 and 15.5 volts.
- Engine running measure and record the voltage at the battery terminals. Verify that the battery voltage is 12.6-15.5 volts.
- Observe the scan tool EBCM battery positive voltage parameter. The reading should be between 12.6 and 15.5 volts.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
- Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door, and wait 1 minute. Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 16 and ground:
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuits for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the IGN / B+ circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- B+ Terminal 1
- B+ Terminal 32
- IGN Terminal 8
- If the test lamp did not illuminate, test the IGN / B+ circuits for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- If the circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
