Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Before applying power to the front end sensor make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedure could cause SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 1 .
Remove the grille. Refer to Fascia Grille Replacement in Bumpers.
Remove the retainers that hold the upper front bumper fascia to the radiator support.
Pull the fascia from the radiator support to gain access to the sensor bolts.

Remove the orange connector position assurance (CPA) (2) from the yellow sensor harness connector (3).
Disconnect the harness connector from the sensor (1).

Remove the sensor bolts (1).
Remove the sensor (2) from the upper radiator core support (3).
