Temperature Sensor I Test

  1. Connect ohmmeter to terminals No. 10 and 22 of EZF ignition control unit connector. Ohmmeter reading should be 4400-6600 ohms at 32°F (0°C), 1400-3600 ohms at 60-85°F (15-30°C), or 1000-1300 ohms at 105°F (40°C).
  2. Temperature sensor protective circuit is activated if ignition timing equals -3 degrees and temperature sensor circuit is either open or shorted to ground.
  3. Ignition timing will also equal -3 degrees if intake air temperature is more than 122°F (50°C), engine is at full throttle, and intake manifold pressure more than 19 in. Hg.
