Installing Control Unit For Rear-Differential Lock

  1. Slide control unit for rear-differential lock -2-  fully into the holder -1-  and press it in -arrow A-  until the two clips -arrows B-  engage securely.

  2. Plug in connector -2-  (-arrow A-  ) and close the lock -1-  (-arrow B-  ).

  3. Fit control unit for rear-differential lock -2-  into the body -arrow-  and secure with the fastening screws -1-  . → Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm (3.0 ft lbs.)+/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ft lbs.)

    Information 

    • Only for vehicles without auxiliary air conditioner. 

    Position package box -2-  on the body -arrow-  and secure with the fastening screws -1-  .

  4. A charger with a current rating of at least 40 A must be connected to the vehicle battery.
  5. PIWIS Tester 9718  must be connected to the vehicle. Start the PIWIS Tester. Switch on ignition using original key and press [>>] to continue.
  6. Select vehicle type and press [>>].
  7. Select the rear-differential lock  control unit and press [>>].
  8. Read out fault memory.  Erase the fault memory if necessary.
  9. Carry out a test drive and read out the fault memory.  If faults are present, proceed in accordance with the Guided Fault Finding instructions.
