Dismounting/Mounting Procedures: Notes
CAUTION:
The tire should be dismounted from the wheel using the tire changer manufacturer's instructions. Use the following information to avoid damage during the dismounting/mounting procedures.
NOTE:
If tires have been rotated, or a tire pressure sensor or wheel has been replaced, the TPM system must be reset. See RESET PROCEDURES .
NOTE:
After fitting, if previous wheels are still in the vicinity (i.e., when changing winter tires or a TPM-equipped vehicle is in the vicinity), they may be detected by TPM system, and can trigger a warning if pressure is low. If this happens, remove extra wheels from the vicinity or tune the vehicle to be outside of the radio range of these wheels using the Porsche System Tester.
The valve (complete with screw) must be replaced if:
- The wheel electronics are removed.
- The self-locking Torx T20 screw is loose.
- The union nut is loose.
- The valve on the valve seat is leaking.
- The valve body is bent or broken.
The wheel electronics must be replaced if:
- The housing is visibly deformed.
- The filter surface (square, porous section on back of wheel electronics) is so badly soiled that it cannot be cleaned by wiping.
- Tire sealant (tire sealing liquid) has been used.
- The service life of the battery has expired.
- There is a fault within the wheel electronics.
