Removing DME Control Unit With Anti-Theft Protection
- Move the bonnet into service position.
- Unscrew both fastening screws -1-
on the control unit bracket and remove water drip pan -2-

Information
Left-hand drive vehicles are fitted with a protection cap over the connector. This must be folded upwards before releasing and disconnecting the connector.
- Unclip DME cables at the two holders -1-
and lift DME control unit including anti-theft protection bar and connected cables up and out.

- Fit a large vice-grip wrench
(at least 300 mm long) at the side of the weld nut on the projecting neck of the three shear bolts -1-
several times and unscrew anti-clockwise, then remove the anti-theft protection bar -2-

Do NOT remove the anti-theft protection holder, which is secured to the DME control unit with two shear bolts, as the procedure for removing the two shear bolts would be too complicated.
- Release the two electric plug connections and pull them off one after the other.
