Coding Hydraulic Unit/Control Unit

Information 

Always read the information section. → 453055 REPLACING HYDRAULIC UNIT/CONTROL UNIT 

• If the hydraulic unit is replaced, the control unit of the hydraulic unit must be coded and calibrated. 
• When replacing the hydraulic unit, there are a number of ways to code the hydraulic unit/control unit. 

1. Control unit replacement 
2. Automatic coding using coding rules 
3. Manual coding of hydraulic unit using coding rules from the >vehicle I-Pass<< 

Information 

If the hydraulic unit is replaced, the PSM control unit must be coded using the Porsche System Tester. Hydraulic unit and PSM control unit form one unit.

1. Control unit replacement 

   > Control unit overview

   > PSM

   > Maintenance/repair

   > Control unit replacement

   Continue from step 2 if the control unit is faulty (electrical fault) and cannot be read out.

2. Automatic coding of hydraulic unit 

   > Control unit overview

   > PSM

   > Coding/adaptations

   > Automatic coding

   If faults or discrepancies occur during automatic coding, carry out the >manual coding of the hydraulic unit< (see step 3 below).

3. Manual coding of hydraulic unit using coding rules from the >vehicle I-Pass<< 

   Prepare the vehicle data (coding rules) from the >vehicle I-Pass<.

   Carry out the >manual coding of hydraulic unit< using coding rules from the >vehicle I-Pass<.

   > Product code

   Select engine version > [F12]

   Select equipment > [>]

   This completes the manual coding.
