General Warning Notes For Working On The Air-Conditioning System: Notes
- Danger of freezing
→ Avoid contact with refrigerant.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Observe the safety regulations for working on air-conditioned vehicles and handling refrigerant.
→ Observe the safety regulations for extraction and filling systems.
→ Observe the instructions for repairing air-conditioning systems and storing spare parts.

- Remove sound absorber in the right wheel housing by pulling it downwards.
- When loosening/tightening the refrigerant line, always work with the > 9822 - assembly tool where possible.
- When loosening or tightening the refrigerant lines, always counter at connections to air conditioning components (e.g. on the condenser) using an open-ended wrench.
- Unscrew and remove fastening screw -1-
at the front underbody connection point.
Information
During removal: Close off refrigerant lines and connections using suitable stoppers.
During installation: Do not remove stoppers from refrigerant lines and connections until shortly beforehand.

Information
Working on the refrigerant circuit:
When removing components, close off all openings immediately using commercially available stoppers.
Store air-conditioning system components in a dry and closed-off area.
When fitting components, do not remove the stoppers until shortly before installation.
Likewise, do not remove the protective foil from the desiccator until just before installation. The desiccator absorbs moisture from the air and is then useless.
Do not carry out repairs in the open during damp weather.
The desiccator should be replaced as soon as one component of the air conditioning system has been replaced or if the air conditioning system was open for > 20 minutes.
Moisture in the refrigerant circuit not only leads to poor cooling, but oversaturation can also cause the desiccator to disintegrate and contaminate the air-conditioning system from inside. This can result in expensive and complicated repairs.
Check sealing rings on the refrigerant lines for damage and replace them if necessary.
Information
Before re-installing these air-conditioning system components, flush them out with nitrogen.
Use a pressure reducer when working with nitrogen.
Evacuate the refrigerant circuit according to instructions.
