Removing Pcm Display And Operator Control Unit

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of optical waveguides 

• Risk of damage to optical waveguide 
  • Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.

Information 

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

• Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work. 
• Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation. 
• Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts. 

Information 

Ignition switched off and ignition key removed before disconnecting or connecting load. 

Information 

Protect centre console against scratching by using a suitable cover.

Information 

Do not trap or damage wire harnesses when inserting the PCM display and operator control unit.

1. Cover the switch console and selector lever or shift lever with clean, soft cloths.
2. Unscrew screws -2-  and pull PCM display and operator control unit -1-  forward to remove it.

   Information 

   The number of electric plug connections will vary depending on equipment.

3. Disconnect electric plug connections -3-  and remove PCM display and operator control unit -1-  .

4. Remove PCM display and operator control unit.

   Information 

   • Work on the PCM display and operator control unit on a clean surface. 
5. Unscrew the four fastening screws -1-  on the display and operator control unit.

6. Remove central computer from display and operator control unit by pulling it to the rear.
