Installing Control Unit For Steering Wheel Electronics

Information 

Re-position the airbag contact unit if its position was changed. To position the airbag contact unit in the central position, press the latch and turn the rotor carefully to the left as far as it will go. Then turn the rotor carefully to the right by approx. 3.5 to 3.75 turns until the latch engages. Check that the arrow marking on the rotor is positioned between the arrow markings on the airbag contact unit.

1. Insert the guide pins -3-  on the steering wheel electronics control unit into the relevant mounting points on the steering-column switch -4-  .

2. Press the steering wheel electronics control unit -3-  onto the steering-column switch -4-  until the locking lugs -arrows-  engage securely.

3. Screw in and tighten screw -2-  .
   1. 3.1 Connect electric plug connections -1-  on the steering wheel electronics control unit -3-  (-arrows A-  ) until they engage securely -arrows a-  .

4. Push steering-column switch onto the steering column and tighten fastening screw to > Torque 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)

5. Connect electric plug connection for steering-column switch.

   Electric plug connection must engage securely.
