Replacing DME Control Unit (Not For GT4)

The wiper comes on once when DME programming is complete.
- Do not place any objects on the windscreen.
- Do not touch the windscreen during programming.
Information
All remote controls (keys) are required for teaching a DME, front-end electronics (front BCM), rear-end electronics (rear BCM), electronic steering lock (ELV) control unit for example, or for teaching remote controls (keys).
Remote controls (keys) that are not taught during this procedure will no longer be recognised by the vehicle.

Voltage drop
- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit
- Risk of damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
- → Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- → Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
- → Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A to the vehicle battery.
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle. Switch on ignition.
- Select the DME control unit in the overview . Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Coding/programming must be selected.
- Automatic programming must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- Follow the instructions on the Tester. Press F12 to continue.
- Switch ignition off and then on again.
- Automatic coding must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- The Tester displays the message: Coding completed successfully. Press F12 to continue.
- In the overview
, press F7 to switch to the Additional menu
.
The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Engine immobiliser start-up must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- Enter the PPN user name and password . Press F12 to continue.
- The Tester displays the message: Login successful . Press F12 to continue.
- Select the vehicle type if required. Press F12 to continue.
- Enter the repair order number. Press F12 to continue.
- Vehicle data will be read out.
- The vehicle identification number is displayed. Change it if necessary.
- Follow the instructions on the Tester. Press F12 to continue.
- Press F11 to end Engine immobiliser start-up and return to the overview.
- Read out fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
- Lock and unlock the vehicle and start the engine using all remote controls.
