Installing Spring Strut Mount

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Install spring strut mount and check that it fits perfectly. Check gap dimensions.

   Bonding areas

   1. 1.1  Apply adhesive on the marked area. > Ap plication depth 3.0 mm 

      > 5X00IN21 WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE PAH.071.781.00

2. Resistance spot-weld the spring strut mount.

   1. 2.1  Plug-weld area -A-  using inert gas.
3. Apply a full weld to the area -Arrows-  using inert gas.

5. Install lower part of plenum panel.

   1. 5.1  Plug-weld the lower part of the plenum panel using inert gas.
   2. 5.2  Resistance spot-weld area -A-  .
6. Install reinforcements.

   Bonding area

   1. 6.1  Apply adhesive on the marked area.

7. Resistance spot-weld the reinforcement.

   Reinforcements

   1. 7.1  Apply a full weld to the area -A and B-  using inert gas.
   2. 7.2  Spot-weld area -C-  using inert gas.
8. Perform resistance spotwelding. Do not weld the notch again.

   2. 9.2  Apply a full weld to areas -1-  using inert gas.
