Programming Dme Control Unit

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester. 

  1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  2. Select the vehicle type if required.
  3. Select the DME  control unit in the overview.  Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
  4. Coding/programming  must be selected.
  5. Automatic programming  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
  6. Follow the instructions on the Tester. Press F12 to continue.
  7. Switch ignition off and then on again.
  8. Automatic coding  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
  9. The Tester displays the message: Coding, complete d successfully.
  10. Switch back to the Overview  menu.
  11. Additional menu  must now be selected. Press F7 to continue.
  12. Engine immobiliser start-up  must be selected. Read and follow the information and instructions on the Tester. Press F12 to continue.
  13. Teach engine immobiliser according to menu guidance.
  14. Press to end Engine immobiliser start-up  and return to the overview.
  15. Select the DME  control unit in the overview. 
  16. Maintenance/repairs  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
  17. Adaptations  must be selected. Press F12 to continue.

    All functions listed under Adaptations must be selected and adapted one by one.

  18. Select function. Press F12 to continue.
  19. Adapt function. Press F8 to start.
    1. 19.1  Perform adaptation according to menu guidance. End adaptation with F8.
  20. Select the next function. Perform adaptation (for instructions, see above).
  21. Read out all fault memories,  work through faults that are stored if necessary and clear the fault memories.
  22. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
  23. Lock, open and start the vehicle using all remote controls.
