Shift Light: Description and Operation

The upshift indicator light, used on manual transaxle equipped vehicles, alerts the driver as to the optimum upshift points of the vehicle. The ECU will illuminate the light based on engine speed and load, and will shut the light off if a shift of gears is not performed within 3 to 5 seconds.
