System Relay Terminals Test

NOTE: During normal operation, relay grounds are provided by the ECU. Ground connections are simulated within the following steps.
  1. Remove system/fuel pump relay holder from inside inner fender (near ECU). When holder is viewed looking forward, system relay is on left side of holder. Fuel pump relay is on right side of holder.
  2. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage between system relay terminals No. 30 and 86. See Fig 1 . Check that there is continuity between system relay terminal No. 85 and ECU harness connector pin No. 21.

  3. Check for continuity between system relay pin No. 87B and ECU harness connector pin No. 2 (mass meter). Check for continuity between system relay terminal No. 87 and ECU harness connector pin No. 9. Check for continuity between system relay terminal No. 87 and fuel pump relay terminal 86. If all connections are okay, go to FUEL PUMP RELAY TERMINALS test.
