Ground Circuits

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect negative lead of ohmmeter to ground. Using positive lead, backprobe ECU terminals No. 5 and 17 (Black wires). Resistance should be zero ohms. If resistance is not zero ohms, repair open wire to ground.
  2. Connect negative lead of DVOM to a good ground. Using positive lead, backprobe ECU terminals No. 5 and 17 (Black wires). With engine running, DVOM should indicate less than one volt. If voltage is more than one volt, check for opens, corrosion and loose connection on ground leads.
