Electronic Control Module (Processor Card): Notes
In the main instrument there is an electronic control module (processor card) which can be changed and which must be programmed, when it is changed, for the car it is going to be fitted in. The electronic control module is powered from terminal 56 (+30 V) in the main instrument and from terminal 55 (+15 V). The electronic control module is grounded via terminal 43. The electronic control module receives information from other systems on the main instrument's inputs. This information is then processed in the electronic control module and used to control certain instruments and lamps.
Pins 3 and 4 have so called 2-way serial communication. Part of the processed information is available to other systems on terminals 3 and 4. Information needed for the main instrument is also received on pins 3 and 4. See Fig 1 .
