Removal & Installation

  1. Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Turn ignition off. Remove engine cover. Remove crankcase breather hose and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Remove oil level indicator tube, throttle cable and cruise control cable bracket assembly.
  2. Using Fuel Line Disconnector (83-94-702), disconnect and plug fuel supply and return lines from fuel rail. Remove 4 fuel rail retaining bolts. Remove injector wiring harness protective covers and disconnect injector connectors.
  3. Carefully remove fuel rail and injectors as an assembly. Remove injector clips. Remove injectors from fuel rail. To install injectors, lubricate injector "O" ring with petroleum jelly and reinstall. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
