BACKGROUND
After fitting a new electronic unit for a trailer (part no. 12803356 - CA: 40 12803356) the software in the luggage compartment electrical center (REC) must be updated so that full functionality is achieved.
PROCEDURE
NOTE:
The following special equipment is required in order to carry out this work:
- PC with TIS2000 version 2003-3 (or later) installed
- Hardware lock with adapter
- PC cable with RS232 adapter
- Tech2 with 32 Mb card, version 107.000 (or later)
- CANdi box
Always use the latest versions of TIS2000 and Tech2.
NOTE:
No PC in proximity to the car: If Tech2 is disconnected from the car, the CANdi box should also be disconnected from Tech2. The CANdi box may remain connected to the car's data link connector.
- Connect the battery charger to the car battery.
- Connect Tech2 to the car's data link connector and to a PC with TIS2000.
- Get Security Access to Tech2 from the car.
- Request control module data from REC using Tech2.
- Download the SPS program from TIS2000 to Tech2.
- Download security access from TIS2000 to Tech2.
- SPS program the REC.NOTE: No special action is required during the programming phase. Follow the instructions in TIS2000 and Tech2 for SPS. The programming will stop for several seconds during the programming phase, which is normal.
- Add REC using Tech2.
- Disconnect the battery charger from the car.
- Read diagnostic trouble codes to ensure that no faults remain.
- Disconnect Tech2 from the car's data link connector.
