Installation Procedure

- Install the engine front cover. Refer to ENGINE FRONT COVER .
- Install the right upper generator fastener.
- Install the lower engine wiring harness protector fastener to the engine front cover.
- Install the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves. Refer to the following:
- CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID VALVE SOLENOID REPLACEMENT - BANK 1 (RIGHT SIDE) EXHAUST
- CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID VALVE SOLENOID REPLACEMENT - BANK 1 (RIGHT SIDE) INTAKE
- CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID VALVE SOLENOID REPLACEMENT - BANK 2 (LEFT SIDE) INTAKE
- CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID VALVE SOLENOID REPLACEMENT - BANK 2 (LEFT SIDE) EXHAUST
- Install the camshaft position sensors. Refer to the following:
- Install the water outlet. Refer to WATER OUTLET INSTALLATION .
- Install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet. Refer to RADIATOR INLET HOSE REPLACEMENT (LAU/A28NER) .
- Install the engine oil cooler hose to the engine oil cooler pipe.
- Install the left camshaft cover. Refer to CAMSHAFT COVER REPLACEMENT - LEFT SIDE .
- Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to DRIVE BELT TENSIONER INSTALLATION .
- Install the upper engine wiring harness protector fastener to the engine front cover.
- Install a NEW O-ring to the heater inlet pipe.
- Install the heater inlet pipe to the water outlet.
- Refer to FASTENER CAUTION

Install the upper heater inlet pipe fastener and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in) .
- Install the secondary air injection pipe. Refer to SECONDARY AIR INJECTION PIPE REPLACEMENT .
- Install the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to BELT IDLER PULLEY replacement.
- Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to CRANKSHAFT BALANCER REPLACEMENT .
- Install the power brake booster pump. Refer to POWER BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP REPLACEMENT (LAU/A28NER) .
- Install the right front wheelhouse front liner. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE FRONT LINER REPLACEMENT .
- Install the water pump. Refer to WATER PUMP REPLACEMENT .
- Install the right front wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the right camshaft cover. Refer to CAMSHAFT COVER REPLACEMENT - RIGHT SIDE .
- Install the catalytic converter. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT (LAU/A28NER) .
- Fill the engine with the appropriate oil type and quantity. Refer to ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT .
