Code 33, Steering Diode Shorted In Arming Sensor: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1992 Saturn SL2, 1992 Saturn SL1, 1992 Saturn SL, and 1992 Saturn SC. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
During initial TURN-ON tests, the DERM monitors the voltage at the 36-VLR output, DERM terminal A2, before this circuit begins to charge. If the diode in the arming sensor connected to arming sensor terminal "C" is shorted, IGN 1 voltage will be present at the 36-VLR output, DERM terminal A2, as soon as the ignition is turned on. If the DERM detects this voltage for 3 ignition cycles in a row, History Code 33 will be set.
