TIS 2000 APPLICATIONS

GENERAL

  1. When closing out of any of the TIS 2000 applications the red stop sign icon should be used. This icon is located in the upper task bar of the application.
  2. Several retailers have requested making a longer RS232 cable available (this is the flat cable that connects the Tech 2 to the Service Stall). For this purpose, Saturn is releasing a new, round 25ft cable. The cost for this cable is $10.00. To order, contact 1-800-GMTOOLS and order part number: 224-SC769B, or use the fax order form at the end of this bulletin. See Fig 1 .
  3. Keyboard covers (300-IM437-104, $21) and SSS system covers (224-SC970) are also available from GMTOOLS. A fax order form is included at the end of this bulletin for ordering these items. See Fig 1 .

SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM (SPS)

  1. With the release of Saturn SSS software Version 1.00 and continuing with 1.01, Saturn retailers do not have the ability to effectively program 1991 DOHC manual transaxle PCM's. Due to SSS software issues with the TIS 2000 application, Retailers are asked not to program 1991 DOHC manual transaxle PCM's from their Service Stall System until further notice. In the event that a PCM replacement is needed (i.e., vehicle inoperative) contact Technical Assistance at 800-828-2112, Prompt 1, for further instructions.
  2. Attached to this bulletin is an updated diagnostic table which should be used when reprogramming errors are encountered. Please replace the prior version of the table with this copy dated March 1999.

TECH 2 SCAN TOOL

  1. Programming 96-99 Saturn vehicle options or tire size with the Tech 2 Tire/Option Reprogramming function, DTC P0602 will Fail (set) after a key cycle. The P0602 Fail cannot be cleared until the PCM options are programmed correctly with the TIS 2000 Service Programming System (SPS). Use the TIS 2000 SPS to correctly program vehicle options and tire size until the next Tech 2 software release. Be sure to clear any DTC Information after programming.
  2. ECT is incorrectly displayed in the Engine Data data display for 92-94 Saturn. Use the PDT for correct ECT values.
  3. IAT values do not switch between metric and english values when the units are toggled in the 91-95 Engine Data data display. The value shown is in degrees F always.
  4. Values and units are incorrect for Norm. & Perf. Up-Pressure-High parameters in the 91-95 Trans. Adaptives data display. Use the PDT for the correct adaptive values.
  5. Values and units are incorrect for 4-2 Down Pressure-High parameters in the 91-95 Trans. Adaptives data display. Use the PDT for the correct adaptive values.
