Section 12 (A/C-Heater System): Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Cadillac Seville, 1995 Cadillac Eldorado, and 1995 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The Electronic Climate Control (ECC) system automatically regulates and maintains selected in-car temperature between 60°F (16°C) and 90°F (32°C) regardless of changes in outside air temperature. The Climate Control Center (CCC) is the main control for selecting in-car comfort levels. See Figure.
The main components of the ECC system are the Air Conditioning Programmer (ACP); Powertrain Control Module (PCM); power module; Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) module; refrigerant system; and 6 temperature sensors.
WARNING:
To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM procedures in the AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
