Throttle Control Module
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Saturn LW300, 2001 Saturn L300, 2000 Saturn LW2, and 2000 Saturn LS2. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Throttle control module integrates throttle body, throttle motor and 2 Throttle Position (TP) sensors. Throttle control module incorporates 2 potentiometers with common supply and ground circuits and independent signal circuits. As throttle opens, TP sensor No. 1 voltage increases and TP sensor No. 2 voltage decreases. These are used as feedback signals for ECM to compare current throttle position with requested throttle position. TP sensor is used with throttle motor to adjust throttle position to requested cruise position. Any fault in TP sensor system will disable cruise control system. Components included in throttle control module are not serviced separately.
