Security System Check

NOTE: Perform REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM CHECK , before performing SECURITY SYSTEM CHECK.
  1. Place dome light switch in DOOR position. Lower driver's window. Close all doors. Press LOCK button on remote keyless entry transmitter until horn chirp is heard. Reach into passenger compartment and manually unlock and open driver's door. Horn should chirp for 10 seconds (pre-alarm mode). Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and dome light should begin to flash, and horn should sound after 10 second pre-alarm mode.
  2. If DRL, dome light or horn do not operate correctly, go to step  4. If DRL, dome light and horn operate correctly, rearm system. Repeat procedure for all doors, one at a time. If system operates correctly for all doors, rearm system and go to next step. If system does not operate correctly, check door jamb switch and circuit for suspect door.
  3. Reach into passenger compartment and turn ignition switch to ACC or RUN position. If alarm activates, system is okay and system check is complete. If alarm does not activate, perform TEST D: HORN DOES NOT SOUND OR DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS DO NOT FLASH WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED ON WITH SECURITY SYSTEM ARMED .
  4. Check BCM programming. Refer to scan tool user guide for information on using PROGRAM KEY FOBS SPECIAL FUNCTION to program transmitters. If DRL, dome light and horn operate correctly after programming transmitter(s), system is okay and system check is complete. If DRL, dome light or horn do not operate correctly after programming transmitter(s), perform the following:
