Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Crankshaft Position Sensor.:

REMOVAL
1. Record preset radio stations.
2. Ignition Off.
3. Disconnect negative battery cable.

CAUTION: Make sure the vehicle is centered and properly positioned prior to lifting.

4. Raise vehicle.
5. Disconnect CKP sensor harness connector.
6. Remove attachment bolt and CKP sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate O-ring with clean engine oil.
2. Install CKP sensor in engine block.
3. Install CKP sensor attachment bolt.

Torque: 9 N.m (80 in-lbs)

4. Connect CKP sensor harness connector. Push in until a click is heard and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
5. Connect negative battery cable.
6. Reset clock and preset radio stations.
