Diagnostic Procedure

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Connect scan tool, and command BTSI solenoid OFF while monitoring feedback. If BTSI feedback does not read LOW, condition is intermittent. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If BTSI feedback reads LOW, check for an open BTSI fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
Disconnect BTSI solenoid. Connect test light between BTSI solenoid ignition feed circuit (Pink wire) and BTSI solenoid control circuit (Dark Green/White wire) at solenoid. Using scan tool, command BTSI solenoid OFF. If test light is on, check control circuit (Dark Green/White wire) for short to ground or a faulty BCM. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If test light is not on, go to next step.
With scan tool connected, determine if feedback is HIGH. If so, check for poor connections at BCM or a faulty BCM. If feedback is not HIGH, connect test light between ground and BTSI solenoid ignition feed circuit (Pink wire) at solenoid. Is test light on? If so, go to step 5 . If not, go to next step.
Repair open in BTSI ignition feed circuit (Pink wire) to solenoid.
Repair open in BTSI solenoid control circuit (Dark Green/White wire) between BCM and solenoid. If no open was found, replace BCM. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repairs, retest system operation.
