Diagnostic Aids
Ignition on, engine off, voltage measured on terminal "L" circuit with generator connector disconnected should read near 5 volts. Voltage may rise to around 5.8 volts with engine running.
An intermittent short to ground in terminal "L" will set this code. An open or short to voltage will not.
A generator that is not charging will pull terminal "L" circuit to ground (through resistance) and set this DTC. Voltage on terminal "L" circuit with circuit intact will read 1.0-1.5 volts when this condition occurs.
