Diagnostic Aids

To locate an intermittent problem, use scan tool to monitor LOW COOLANT LEVEL. Wiggling wires while watching for a change from NO to YES may locate area where an open or short to ground in wiring could lie.

PCM will command instrument panel cluster over Class II link to turn coolant level telltale on when engine is running and coolant level input voltage goes low for greater than 30 seconds. Telltale will remain on steady when this condition occurs.

Check level in coolant surge tank and pressure test system if a leak is suspected.
